Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) data access is a method to download TCGA data via a web interface of the TCGA server directories that house TCGA data. Data is provided across two sites: the open-access and controlled-access HTTP directories. Note: Although referred to as 'HTTP', TCGA actually uses HTTPS, a secure protocol to ensure security through encryption.

Directory Structure

There are two main branches to the HTTP data directories: Open Access and Controlled Access. Authentication is required to traverse the directories under Controlled Access.
