1. From the CSSI Data Portal home page, click the Search button or select Investigations > Search.
   
   
   The Search Investigations page appears.
   
2. In the Search box, enter a keyword or phrase.
3. In the Search for list, select the context for the search, either Investigations, Studies, or Assays.
4. Under Search for related terms, select either Ontology for Biomedical Investigations or NCI Thesaurus, or both.
5. Under Include, select either Synonyms Only or Synonyms and Subclasses. This selection restricts or expands the search of the keyword or phrase you entered within the ontology/ies you selected. Synonyms include terms in an ontology that are closely related to the keyword or phrase you entered. Subclasses are categories associated with the ontology term.
