- Select a trial to validate by following the instructions in Selecting Trials that Require Validation. The Trial Identification page displays the trial details.
On the Trial Identification page, check out the trial. For instructions, refer to Checking In and Checking Out Trials. (This checkout step is optional for Super Abstractors.)
On the Validation menu, click Trial Validation.
In the drop-down lists and text fields, select or enter the appropriate information. The following table describes the fields. An asterisk (*) indicates a required field.

Lead Organization Trial ID* (under Other Trial Identifiers)
Ensure that the ID matches the one provided in the protocol. Make changes as necessary. Refer to Abstracting Trial Descriptions, Titles, and Identifiers.
ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier (under Other Trial Identifiers)

Type or correct the trial title as necessary. You can use a maximum of 4000 characters. Refer to Abstracting Trial Descriptions, Titles, and Identifiers.
Trial Phase*
Refer to Abstracting Interventional Trial Design or Abstracting Non-Interventional Trial Design.
Is this a Pilot? (available if Trial Phase = NA)
Refer to Abstracting Interventional Trial Design or Abstracting Non-Interventional Trial Design.
Primary Purpose*
Refer to Abstracting Interventional Trial Design or Abstracting Non-Interventional Trial Design.
If Primary Purpose is "Other", describe (available if Primary Purpose = Other)

Lead Organization*
Click Look Up Organization. Refer to Searching for Organizations in PA.
