If your user account has the Read, Write, or Own permission level on a collection in DME, the following command allows you to view all metadata associated with that collection:

dm_get_collection <collection-path> [metadata-file] [REST-response]

The following table describes each parameter:

ParameterDescription
<collection-path>
The path to the collection.
[metadata-file]

An optional path and filename.

  • If you specify this parameter, the system creates the specified file in the specified location and saves the metadata in that file.
  • If you do not specify this parameter, the system prints the metadata to standard output.

The system provides information about the collection, a list of attribute values for the collection, and a list of attribute values for the parent collection.
