Status: met with Dave Breslin to review issues with Servers and response and support from Systems. How can we get better support from Systems?

Action Item: Mark will be writing up situation summary for Dave (including what are our problems today, our sunsetting efforts, plans, schedule, what do we want in January, problems with configuration, filtering, etc. I will then meet with Dave and a couple others next week to review and find a way to get better support - likely at a higher level.

Report Exporter
Status: Scott continues working on Report Exporter to get it running correctly under java 17; there are workarounds at the moment - but work is ongoing.and Adobe Launcher for testing; 2. banner for retire services (finalized text)
3. Open item: training Mark and Chao.
Security

Status: "Firewall Waiver: 17761" warning - we have an external exemption for DEV for the firewall. Brandon said that while the exemption isn't totally resolved - that maybe we remove the firewall exemption for the DEV tier. 
Suggestion: let the firewall exemption expire. 
it was noted that the fix is uncertain - especially with the timeframe.
Maybe have a fix/workaround with Scott.

  • Public website changes will go live with the 2.0 Release (around the end-of-November)
  • CTS2 shutdown (NCI-SCTASK0930573)
    • Had a Meeting with Systems Tuesday, October 29
    • will remove CTS2, and cts2docs from DEV, QA
    • will retire old servers, p803, p805 in 2025
    • there is a difference in the start/stop scripts on DEV/QA as compared to STAGE/PROD; they will investigate this
    • will remove CTS2 and scripts, container to ensure it won't be able to start (including proxy, dns, f5 settings) - not worry about restoring in the future

Server

Once redirection test on STAGE starts (e.g. NCIt → EVS Explore), Data deployments will go from DATA-QA → PROD (PROD will need to come down in evenings during test); Content team normally don't do reviewing on STAGE level. Usually for QA (Swathi) to review . Now, deployment to PROD is faster

redirection of EVS legacy systems

Will have kickoff on Monday, Nov 4. The load balancer is figured out. The main page, NCIm, NCIt work but not metathesaurus redirection isn't working yet. Specific concepts are redirecting. It appears to need a 1-on-1 redirection implementation.
Lowell was going to go on vacation today, but is not postponed for a couple weeks.
Jason will let us know when things are ready for testing.
