Trial record owners can update and amend trials in CTRP Registration. The trial submitter is listed as a trial record owner by default, but in your role as an abstractor, you can assign ownership of any trial record to any user currently registered with the CTRP. You also can remove record ownership for any current trial record owner.

In your role as abstractor, you can assign or remove ownership of any trial record. The system sends a notification of change of ownership to the appropriate user each time you assign/remove trial ownership.
How to Assign Trial Record Ownership

- To search for an individual user, enter the name(s) and/or email address in the fields provided.
- To search for users in an organization, click Look Up Org and search for the user's affiliated organization by following the instructions in Searching for Organizations.
After selecting the organization, you are returned to the Assign Ownership page.

How to Remove Trial Record Ownership
- On the main menu, click Search Trials, and search for the trial to which you want to assign ownership. For instructions, see Searching for Trials.
- Click the NCI Trial Identifier link.
- On the main menu, click Assign Trial Ownership.
The Assign Trial Ownership page lists the current trial record owner(s).
Assign Trial Ownership Page-Current Trial Owners - In the Action column, click Remove Ownership for each user you no longer want designated as an owner of the current trial record.
The user is removed from the list of trial record owners.

All trial record owners, both original submitters and owners that have been assigned as trial record owners, receive system-generated email notifications regarding the trial throughout its processing workflow by default.
Some owners may want to opt out of these email notifications. As an abstractor, you can designate which of the owners receive them.
How to Manage Trial Record Owner Email Notifications
- On the main menu, click Search Trials, and search for the trial to which you want to assign ownership. For instructions, see Searching for Trials.
- Click the NCI Trial Identifier link.
- On the main menu, click Assign Trial Ownership.
The Assign Trial Ownership page lists the current trial record owner(s).

- To indicate that an owner will receive email notifications, select the check box in the appropriate row.
- or - - To indicate that an owner will not receive email notifications, clear the check box in the appropriate row.
