SYNOPSIS:

The Georgetown Database of Cancer (G-DOC) is designed to serve as a cutting-edge data integration platform and integrative knowledge discovery system for the oncology and  translational research communities. By aggregating public and proprietary clinical and -omics data from across the Medical Center, G-DOC is expected to help bring about significant advances in personalized medicine for patients and to promote identification of new drug targets and therapeutic modalities. Dr. Madhavan's talk is titled, "G-DOC: A Novel Data Integration Platform to Enable Systems Medicine"

BIO:

Dr. Madhavan is the Director of Clinical Research Informatics at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University. Previously, she served as the Associate Director of Product and Program Management at NCI CBIIT, where she led the development of several bioinformatics programs, including The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) project and the platform supporting the REpository of Molecular BRain Neoplasia DaTa (REMBRANDT) project. Dr. Madhavan holds a doctorate in molecular biology from the Uniformed Services University for Health Sciences.
