Page History
If you are a model owner, you can refresh the CDE associated with a model component:
- Log in as described in Logging In.
- Select Manage > Manage Data > Model Maintenance. The corresponding page appears. (Logged in users can add pages like this to their favorites. For instructions, refer to Managing Favorites.)
- Click the edit icon in the row for your model component. A tree view and information panel appear.
- Specify values in the following fields:
- Model Element Alternate Name Type
- Model Characteristic Alternate Name Type
- Model Classification Scheme
- Click Save.
- Select Models Command > Refresh CDE Association. The system finds matching CDEs, associates them with the model component, and displays a message at the top of the page indicating how many characteristics the system updated.
- To manually associate additional CDEs with the model component:

- In the tree view, select the Model Elements node. A grid appears. Each row has a model element.
- Click the edit icon in the row for the element you want to modify. The Model Element Characteristics node appears.
- Select the Model Element Characteristics node. A grid appears. Each row has a model element characteristic.
- Click the edit icon in the row for the characteristic you want to modify. An information panel appears for that characteristic.
- In the CDE field, specify a CDE.
- Repeat for additional characteristics, as needed.
