If you are logged in, you have the option of using can use Globus to download the full data from an investigation. Globus is a service that enables large file transfers securely. To download investigation files to CSSI DCC from Globus, you must have an account with Globus and install Globus Connect Personal as described in the following page:

If you do not already have a Globus account, the system prompts you to create one when you start the download process.For initial setup, refer to Prerequisites for Downloading Large Files with Globus

To download full data  using using Globus

  1. If you haven't already, start Globus Connect Personal.
  2. Log in to the CSSI DCC portal. For instructions, refer to Logging In to the CSSI DCC Portal.
  3. Open the investigation you want to download. The Investigation Details page appears.

  4. Click the Download Full Data button. . (This button is available only when your user account has access to the entire investigation and when the investigation has data.) The Request Data Files dialog box appears.

  5. Click the Transfer with Globus checkbox  checkbox and then click Download
  6. If you have not confirmed your Globus ID previously, the Globus Data Transfer dialog box appears. In this case, enter your Globus ID (an email address) and click . (The default value might not be your Globus ID.) Click ConfirmThe Globus Data Transfer dialog box.Image Removed

    The next step depends on whether you are downloading the investigation's full data or selected data:

    For future updates of this page, you can make this dialog box appear again by deleting the DCC user account in the Admin Dashboard.

  7. If you are downloading full data, a Globus page appears.

  8. If you are downloading selected data or multiple investigations, the Download Requested message appears. Click Ok. The system sends you a message with "CSSI DCC Portal File Download Ready" as the subject line. (For details about that message, refer to Using a Download Summary.) Click the link in the message.

  9. Log into Globus, if prompted to do so.

    The Globus File Manager page appears. The system has already populated the starting endpoint on the right (/_full_archives/...) with the file you have selected for download in DCC.

  10. Finish the download process as follows:
    1. In the starting endpoint (on the right), select the data.zip ZIP file.
    2. On the left, select the destination endpoint and select the folder where you want to place the downloaded file. Navigate to the folder, if necessary. 
    3. Click the Start button that points to the destination to begin the transfer request.  
      A message appears on the screen when the transfer request is submitted successfully.

      When the request is granted and the transfer succeeds, Globus sends a notification message to the email address associated with your Globus account.
