Page History
This page tree describes family describes how to upload data (register collections or files ) to in DME using the Command Line Utilities (CLU). If your user account has the Write or Own permission level on an existing collection in DME, you can upload register data to into that collection in the following ways:
- If that existing collection has been configured to contain another collection, you can add a collection.
- If that existing collection has been configured to contain data files, you can add files.
Two commands can register collections from your file system. Both can upload files and metadata to DME, thereby creating collections and data files. However, keep in mind how each command uploads metadata:
- The dm_register_collection command can upload metadata from a single JSON file that lists all of the data you are uploading.
- The dm_register_directory command can upload metadata from multiple JSON files, one for each data file you are uploading.
You can also rename a collection or data file using the CLU.
Consider browsing this page tree:
You can also use the CLU to create an empty collection.
The character limit for each metadata value is 2700.
