Heather Bowles, Ph.D. is a Physical Activity Epidemiologist with the Risk Factor Monitoring and Methods Branch in NIHNCI's Applied Research Program. Before coming to the National Cancer Institute, Dr. Bowles held a research academic appointment in Australia at the Centre for Physical Activity and Health, University of Sydney. Dr. Bowles earned her Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of South Carolina and her M.S. in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas.

James McClain, Ph.D., M.P.H., is also a Physical Activity Epidemiologist with the Risk Factor Monitoring and Methods Branch in NIHin NCI's Applied Research Program. He first joined the National Cancer Institute as a Cancer Prevention Fellow in 2007. Dr. McClain earned a B.S. and M.S. in Exercise Physiology from Iowa State University, a Ph.D. in Physical Activity, Nutrition, and Wellness from Arizona State University, and an M.P.H. from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
