The NBIA team is pleased to announce the release of version 6.1 2 of the National Biomedical Imaging Archive (NBIA). This release adds a DICOM web viewer, allows REST access to private collections, updates updates the infrastructure to conform to the new NCI environment, upgrades CSM to 5.1, adds WADO API calls to both public and private collections, adds an initial C-FIND and C-GET DICOM API, adds a workflow module that can update remote systems via REST, improves the user interface, as well as numerous 2, provides improvements to search, an important bug fix to Oviyam, as well as additional bug fixes and minor enhancements.
Oviyam 2.1 Integration
Oviyam 2.1 has been integrated into NBIA as a DICOM web viewer. The link to DICOM Web Viewer in the search results and QA modules opens Oviyam at the study level. Oviyam has been tested with NBIA using the FireFox browser.
Rest Access to Private Collections
The NBIA REST API now supports secure access to private resources in the Client Credentials authorization flow with Spring Security and OAuth2.

Infrastructure Update
NBIA infrastructure has been updated to allow for continued support of the system by moving to recent releases as well as the movement of the NBIA application to NCI's Shady Grove facility. This includes:
- Java 7
- JBoss 6.2 EAP
- Oracle 11
CSM 5.2
CSM has been updated to version 5.1 2 with additional encrypted fields for better security .and updated infrastructure
WADO API
A WADO API has been added to NBIA that allows access to both public and private collections. The API is utilized within the application to allow the user's own DICOM tool to be activated when browsing thumbnails and selecting to view the image.
C-FIND and C-GET
NBIA now has an initial C-FIND and C-GET for public collections. They can be tested with a PACS client.
Workflow Module
NBIA has a workflow module that can be configured to notify remote systems via REST in changes of status for an image series for a given collection and site.
Search Improvements
All searches now include guidance on performing searches, and simple search now includes the ability to search on date available as well as subject IDs.
Oviyam Update
The release includes an update to the integration of the embedded Oviyam 2 application that allows it to work correctly across multiple studies.
