Only a logged in administrator can access the Admin menu to add and update users and reset user passwords. Application Support will forward requests to caNanoLab Administrators to create new users and reset user passwords. |

When you click Admin, Manage User Accounts appears with the following options.

To create a new user account
Click Admin.
Click Create New User.
- From Create User, fill in the user contact information. The Username and First and Last Name are required.
Specify the User Role(s) to assign to the user:
Researcher
Curator
Admin
Click Save.
A success message appears in red at the top of the page.

To search for an existing user
Click Administration.
Click Search Existing Users.
From Search Users, in the Search Name box, you can enter the user's Username, First, and/or Last Name.Info title Leaving User Search Empty If you do not add any parameters in the User Search box, all users are returned.
User Search Results opens with the user's username and contact information.
You can edit and reset the password for any user returned by the search.

To edit a user's account information
Search for the user.
From the search results, click Edit in the Actions column.
On Update User, you cannot edit the Username, but you can update the remaining user information.
- To add a user role, click Add and select Curator, Research, and/or Admin.
Click Update when you are done.
A success message appears in red at the top of the page.

To reset a user password
- Search for the user.
From the search results, click Reset Password in the Actions column.
On Update User, enter the Old Password and add a New Password. You cannot edit the Username.
Click Reset Password.
A success message appears in red at the top of the page.
