  • The LexEVS team did some preliminary review of this issue and added comments to the JIRA issue.
  • Kim suggested that this call could be made locally instead of over RMI. 
    • This will make the implementation more simple and faster.

Java 11 upgrade investigation

Discussion Points:

  • We did some testing and were able to upgrade LexEVS API to Java 11 with minor updates.
  • Next, we will need to investigate the work required to upgrade the LexEVS Remote and REST services to Java 11.
  • Gilberto said that CentOS will support Java 8 through 2023.
  • At this point, there is no mandate from the Systems team to upgrade to Java 11.

  • We should contact the Systems team to understand if there is a requirement to upgrade off from Java 8
GitHub security alerts

Discussion Points:

  • The LexEVS has a list of its LexEVS security alerts and will need to have a contact to send this list to and discuss.
  • Lyuba requested that we need to determine the effort to eliminate these git security issues.
  • Other teams are not sure how to proceed either.
  • These issues were reported from Git, not from the security team. 
  • The LexEVS team has a document that has all of the issues and possible mitigation.
