Change in validation of user credentials by the UMLS

Discussion Points:

  • The feature was added about a month ago.
  • NLM is going to change - when downloading the metathesaurus, the NLM will only accept API keys now (not user/pw)
  • This information will need to be advertised to the Metathesaurus community to let them know then need to change and the NCIt download servlet will need to pass the API key.

  • Scott mentioned that we can update the way the load works, but it will cause the load to take longer.
  • We will investigate making improvements so it doesn't run out of memory.
