SYSTEMS
EVS transition to virtual machines

STATUS:We need to have a decision about how to handle PROD VM server not being ready at the moment.

We were going to wait to switch STAGE from on prem to VM once PROD server is ready; so we can switch both PROD and STAGE at same time . So how do we handle the OS conversion then? Do we push for PROD VM to be made? Wait to build the VM after we convert STAGE and then PROD to Oracle Linux 7?

We are waiting until OS conversions are complete and then will work on Prod system. 

  • DECIDED: conversion first, then transition to VMs.  Likely end of March
  • we are probably a ways from PROD VM; STAGE VM saw issues pop up during transition

Statistics Dashboard

OBJECTIVE 
Complete Migration of Statistics Dashboard from SumoLogic to DataDog by March 2024.  Hard end in April.

STATUS

  • S3 bucket has been created, but is blocked by next step of installing a Datadog / AWS integration. 
  • RUM installation started

ACTIONS

  •  Benson, Mark (NIH/NCI) [C] to create S3 bucket - under 'EVSTOOLS'
    •  will need additional work to install Datadog / AWS integration. working with Cyrus and Systems.

  • Scott made the point about needing metrics for server performance, resources when issues/outages occur. CPU hit 1200% during the slowdown before we restarted.
    • Maybe not releasing sessions - still being diagnosed
  • Some remediation being made on Stage to help with startup caching
