EVS transition to virtual machines

STATUS:

  • Prod2 server up and running - being tested
    • Reported issues with value set exports - comparable to old Prod
    • Kim checked on mappings and sent solution
  • Tomcat 8.5 reached EoL - needing new stacks for all tiers
    • Oracles OES8, Tomcat 10, Java 17
    • Met with Systems Tuesday, will check with them on progress no later than next Tuesday
    • Options
      • Go to Tomcat 9 first then carefully go to Tomcat 10
      • Tomcat 10 would require a Java upgrade, 9 can stay on Java 8
      • OES8 could come later
  • Meeting 4/16/24

    • Waiting on Prod new server
  • Protege and SIP completed in all tiers
  •  Tracy - check on any remaining tasks
Report Exporter
  • Working on templating starting
    • Doing phase 1 - moved to QAStage
    • In progress: implement file-based template storage
  • Wait time indicator on Stage - qa completed
    • Request in Moved to move to Prod and verified
    • Release notes written
  • Checking Tomcat version - already on 9


Security

Tomcat 8.5 is EOL - risk if new vulnerability discovered

Statistics Dashboard

OBJECTIVE 
Complete Migration of Statistics Dashboard from SumoLogic to DataDog by March 2024.  Hard end in April (ish) - possibly end of June

STATUS

  • S3 bucket has been created
    • Working on integration
    • successfully tested refresh
    • need to operationalize
  • Collectors installed on all servers 
    • Apache config happening server by server
  • Apache logs being pulled in for p805
    • evs.cancer.gov now working
      • Working on queries
  • New Stage and Prod servers need to be requested
