EVS transition to virtual machines

STATUS:

  • Tomcat 9 up on Stage
    • repoint URLs to new services
    • Some lingering issues being worked on with NCIm
      • Scott working on reviewing logs - looks like configuration issue
  • DataQA work has begun - will try and get update within 1 week
  • Prod work has begun - on Prod2
  • CTS2 shut down on Prod on Aug 27

EVS Website Update
Just had a meeting at 1pm today. 
Discussed how to get editing access
We will be going through Clint for continued editing access
Discussed versioning of edits (and how to restore edits)
Limitation: we are limited wrt uploading images, still need to go through Clint
API Key: Clint and crew will be working on simplifying this process, and will mock up for testing


DATA UPDATES
Data
  • Stage upgraded to Java 17/tomcat 9
  • Data deployment started today, Chuck monitoring and correcting script on the fly
    • Some changes will be seen, such as data verification no longer supported

Latest terminologies are being tested, and soon will be ready for deployment

ISSUE: with Stage being down, we don't have a "clean" way to do deployment, which means that data deployments would require PROD being down for ~ 2 -3 hours!

(we cannot redirect users to STAGE during DATA DEPLOYMENTS)

DECIDED: it may be sufficient to notify users of the interuption
