Generate model characteristic mappings based on semantic matching

  1. Select Manage > Manage DataModel Mapping Maintenance. The corresponding page appears. (Logged in users can add pages like this to their favorites. For instructions, refer to Managing Favorites.)
  2. Select a model mapping row.
  3. Select Model Mappings Command > Generate Semantic Mapping DEC. The system generates semantic mapping.
  4. Click the edit icon for the selected model mapping. A tree view and information panel appear.
  5. In the tree panel, select the 5.1 Configure Characteristics Mapping node. A grid appears with the following columns. Each mapping row has a unique combination of values in the Characteristic Group and Group Order columns. Columns with a caret mark (^) are informational.

The following table describes the Mapping Type values:

    ValueDescription
Derived FromTarget characteristic is derived using a function, defaulted to a value, or mapping row has ‘ENDIF’
IgnoreNo transformation rule needed from source to target characteristics
Semantic EquivalentThe source and target characteristics have the same CDE
Semantic SimilarThe source and target characteristics have the same DEC
    Not MappedNone of the above

  6. TBD

At this point, you can create transformation rules, as described in Creating Transformation Rules - DRAFT
