Bento Team

Retrospective

Where did we improve? (smile)

  • List anything that went well in this sprint including shout out to others that went out of their way to help (add your name after your comment)
  • We released 4.0 on schedule (sort of (smile)), huge kudos to the team!Ying, Ming (NIH/NCI) [C]
  • We refactored entire codebase without introducing too many bugs, and fixed some known bugs we couldn't fix until now! I couldn't thank all the team members enough! Your hard and professional work made Bento 4.0 possible!Ying, Ming (NIH/NCI) [C]
  • The Bento Demos are top notch, they are just awesome and set an incredible example for other project teams (Kuffel, Gina (NIH/NCI) [C] )

What areas still need improvement? (sad)

  • List anything that we could have done better in this sprint (add your name after your comment)
  • One thing we can improve is the planning. We missed several things in the plan, e.g., custodian configuration and bento-local environment. We'll try to do a better job next time!  Ying, Ming (NIH/NCI) [C]
  • There are still some features with important user stories that have not been implemented. For example, the Dynamic Query Bar lacks the ability to expand the ellipse in order to see all filter facets selected by the user. We will need a good way for prioritizing backlog work moving forward. (Kuffel, Gina (NIH/NCI) [C] )

What you have learned? (lightbulb)

  • List anything you learned about in this sprint (add your name after your comment)
  • It needs a very different mindset when writing a framework instead of an application. Ying, Ming (NIH/NCI) [C]
  • I have learned so much from this team. I truly appreciate when developers can present their work in a way that helps others understand how the actual code translates into things we can see on the frontend. (Kuffel, Gina (NIH/NCI) [C]).
