Creating Transformation Rules - DRAFT

If you are a model mapping expert, you can create transformation rules:

1. Log in as described in Logging In.
2. Select Manage > Manage Data > Model Mapping Maintenance. The corresponding page appears. (Logged in users can add pages like this to their favorites. For instructions, refer to Managing Favorites.)  
3. Click the edit icon for a model mapping row. A tree view and information panel appear. 
4. In the tree panel, select the 5.1 Configure Characteristics Mapping node. A grid appears with the following columns. Each mapping row has a unique combination of values in the Characteristic Group and Group Order columns. Columns with a caret mark (^) are informational.

   The following table describes the Mapping Type values: 

   Value	Description
   Derived From	Target characteristic is derived using a function, defaulted to a value, or mapping row has ‘ENDIF’.
   Ignore	No transformation rule needed from source to target characteristics.
   No CDE	No CDE attached to characteristics.
   Semantic Equivalent	The source and target characteristics have the same CDE.
   Semantic Similar	The source and target characteristics have the same DEC.
   Not Mapped	None of the above.
