If you are a model mapping expert, you can create transformation rules:

  1. Log in as described in Logging In.
  2. Select Manage > Manage DataModel Mapping Maintenance. The corresponding page appears. (Logged in users can add pages like this to their favorites. For instructions, refer to Managing Favorites.)
  3. Click the edit icon for a model mapping row. A tree view and information panel appear.
  4. In the tree panel, select the 5.1 Configure Characteristics Mapping node. A grid appears with the following columns. Each mapping row has a unique combination of values in the Characteristic Group and Group Order columns. Columns with a caret mark (^) are informational.

The following table describes the Mapping Type values:

    ValueDescription
Derived FromTarget characteristic is derived using a function, defaulted to a value, or mapping row has ‘ENDIF’.
IgnoreNo transformation rule needed from source to target characteristics.
No CDENo CDE attached to characteristics.
Semantic EquivalentThe source and target characteristics have the same CDE.
Semantic SimilarThe source and target characteristics have the same DEC.
    Not MappedNone of the above.
