NIH | National Cancer Institute | NCI Wiki

Activities completed this month
  1. Patrick is making final adjustments and has sent over a final version of the code he was working on.
  2. A new docker submission video (tutorial) has been made and Carolyn is making edits to it.
UPDATE: I am in the process of changing the transcript so Carolyn can add her voice over the video.
  3. Reminded Jayashree to send invoices for Sept (new contract).
  4. I'm currently working on a way to upload docker images via the Docker REST API. It's not going well. I have decided to switch to a different way using the regular docker push commands in bash.
  5. Add Okta as supported feature in MedICI GitHub and website.
Planned for next month
  1. Get PIV card for NIH access (appointment is scheduled for 12/22/2020).
  2. Kevin is upgrading the JQuery of their deployment of the codalab MedICI instance over at NCI/NIH. We will meet periodically to see how it is going.
  3. The SPIE-AAPM Breast Cancer challenge is about to start next month. Challenge link: http://spie-aapm-nci-dair.westus2.cloudapp.azure.com/. Will need to double check that they have the scoring program ready (I know it is not right now..).
Comments

Things that went well:

  • Preliminary implementations of the regular docker commands used for pushing images with AZURE ACR service principal credentials is going well.
Comments

Things that could be improved:

  • There is a risk that the kubernetes version, while close to finished, might be halted or put aside so that the COVID challenge can proceed. This wouldn't be so bad, but would mean I have to finish learning about the kubernetes version into 2021.
  • Just making a mental note here that in the future we will need to upgrade CodaLab into it's newer version.

Ingress service in Kubernetes is not behaving like the standard tutorials or documentationKeep plugging away to find the correct configuration1closed

Azure has inconsistent docs on how to set this service up.--

Challenge taking too long to setup. People are worried about it failing to materialize

We really need a solid deployment of this architecture on Azure. Basic functionality is not working and some of the harder stuff is still being developed.

Now that CodaLab has been deconstructed from its normal configuration (postgres as an azure service rather than container; codalab as a pod in kubernetes instead of container; codalab code in azure file shares rather than the host machine), getting all the pieces to talk to one another isn’t working seamlessly yet.

Scoring program not ready for the SPIE-AAPM challengeI have drafted a preliminary white board thought process to understand the desired implementation. I have a couple questions, but could turn it into code if I had to. 2Open
