Populate your file with information about the VDs that you want to import. The following table provides instructions for each column in the VD import template:
Column Name Instructions Do Not Use Leave empty. Batch User Enter a batch user name in each row. You can provide any text in this column. The system does not validate this column. Batch Name Enter a batch name in each row. The combination of Batch User and Batch Name must be unique. Seq ID Specify a unique sequence ID in each row. Context Name Each cell in this column has a drop-down list of all valid Contexts. Select a value from that list. Optional Specified VD Long Name TBD Optional VD Short Name TBD Rep Term Qualifier Concepts TBD Primary Rep Term Name Each cell in this column has a drop-down list. Select a value from that list. Primary Rep Term Concept Each cell in this column has a drop-down list. Select a value from that list. CD Long Name Each cell in this column has a drop-down list of standard conceptual domain names. Select a value from that list. The system automatically populates the CD Public ID in the next column. CD Public ID When you select a CD Long Name in the previous column, the system automatically populates the CD Public ID in this column. VD Type Each cell in this column has a drop-down list. Select Enumerated, Non-Enumerated, or Enumerated by Reference. Enum by Ref Terminology Concept Code TBD Enum by Ref Terminology Data Value Source Each cell in this column has a drop-down list. Select Code or Term. Create Ref Terminology PV/VM? Each cell in this column has a drop-down list. Select Yes or No. Source Data Type Each cell in this column has a drop-down list. Select a value from that list. Standard Data Type TBD Unit of Measure Each cell in this column has a drop-down list. Select a value from that list. Display Format Each cell in this column has a drop-down list. Select a value from that list. Minimum Length TBD Maximum Length TBD Low Value TBD High Value TBD Decimal Place TBD Optional VD Origin Each cell in this column has a drop-down list of all valid VD Origins. Select a value from that list. Comments TBD As you populate your file, keep in mind the following points:
- You may add additional columns to your file for taking/keeping notes after the last template column, but the column names must be unique.
You can use your Delete key to clear the contents of one or more individual cells, but do not delete entire rows or columns.
- Save the file as CSV.
- Log in as described in Logging In.
- From the Manage menu, select Manage Data. The Manage Data page appears. Select VD Import. The VD Import page appears. (For instructions on adding this page to your favorites, refer to Managing Your Favorites.)
- From the Import menu, select Data Object Import.
- Import the file, as described in TBD.
