Creating a New User Account

To create a new user account

  1. Click the Admin caNanoLab menu option. On the Manage

    Curation

    Users page, click

    Review Data Pending Release to Public.
    The Data Pending Review page that opens displays the list of data to be reviewed.
  2. Click the Edit link to open a data detail page where you can update a sample.
    After reviewing the submitted data, you can assign the data to be Public.
  3. Click Add associated with the Access and the Access Information panel opens.

  4. In the Access Information panel, select the Public radio button and click Save.

  5. Create New User. This opens the Create User page.

  6. Fill in the following information about the user:
    1. Username

    2. First and Last Name

    3. Organization

    4. Department

    5. Title

    6. Phone Number

    7. Email

  7. Select the User Role(s) to assign to the user:

    1. Researcher

    2. Curator

    3. Admin

    INSERT
  8. Click Save.
    A success message displays in red at the top of the

Searching for Existing Users

To generate or remove data availability for multiple samples in a batch

The owner of a sample can always generate data availability metrics for the individual sample.

 search for an existing user

  1. On the Manage Curation Users page, click Manage Batch Data Availability Search Existing Users.
    The Manage Batch Data Availability User Search page opens.
    The following sample data availability batch options are availableIn the Search Name box, enter the user's Username, or First or Last Name.

    This batch process may take some time, but it runs in the background, so you can perform other options in caNanoLab. 

    OptionDescriptionGenerate data availability for all samples  Generates data availability metrics for all samples, including those where metrics were generated previously.Regenerate data availability of sample with existing availability  

    Generates data availability metrics only for samples where metrics were generated previously. 

    Delete data availability for all samples

    Removes all the current data availability metrics for all samples.

    Leaving User Search Empty

     If you do not add any parameters in the User Search box, all users are returned in the results.

    The User Search Results page opens.

  2. You can edit and reset the password for any user returned by the search.

Editing a User Account

To edit a user's account information

  1. Search for the user.

  2. In the row of the user in the search results, click Edit.

    INSERT

  3. You cannot edit the Username. Make your changes on the Update User page opens.

  4. Click Update.

    A success message displays in red at the top of the page.

Resetting a User Password

 

To reset a user password

 

  1. Search for the user.

  2. In the row of the user in the search results, click Reset Password.

    INSERT

  3. You cannot edit the Username. Enter the old password and add a new password.  

  4. Click Reset Password.

    A success message displays in red at the top of the page

    Click Submit, and a message displays indicating that the process may take some time.
