  1. Log in, as described in Logging In
  2. Make sure your window is wide enough to display the Uploads option in the header.
  3. Click Uploads. The upload page appears. 
  4. Navigate to the collection in which you want to create a new collection. In the next field, click the Add New option. (For example, to add a new dataset, select an existing program from the program list, select an existing study from the study list, and then select Add New Dataset.) A registration dialog box appears. 
  5. Specify the information for the new collection:
    • In the Metadata Permissions field, select one or more groups from the list. (If the Metadata Permissions field is empty, only you, as the person who created the collection, can edit the metadata.)
    • To add a metadata attribute, click the Add Metadata option. A blank attribute row appears. Specify a unique attribute name.
    • If you do not want the public to have access to the data, clear the Public checkbox and specify select one or more groups from the list
    • Specify a value for each required metadata attribute.   
  6. When you have finished specifying information for the new collection, click the Register button (such as Register Dataset).
