  1. Log in, as described in Logging In. 
  2. Perform a search, as described in Finding Data.
  3. In the search results, click the link for the dataset of interest. The Dataset Details dataset details page appears. 
  4. In the row of the file for which you want to edit metadata, click the edit icon. The User Metadata page appears.
  5. Specify the information for the collection:
    • To add a metadata attribute, click the Add Metadata option. A blank attribute row appears. Specify a unique attribute name.
    • Specify a value for each required metadata attribute. 
  6. Click Update.
