If you have a MoDaC user account, you can download the metadata for one or more files in a dataset an asset, to your file system. 

  1. Log in, as described in Logging In
  2. Search for the data of interest, as described in Finding Data
  3. In the search results, click the link for the dataset asset of interest. The Dataset The Asset Details page appears. Select one or more files:
    • To download the metadata of one file, click the download metadata icon in that row.
    • To select all files, select the Batch Select checkbox. (To deselect one file, click the checkbox in that row.) Click Download Selected Metadata.

    A message appears, asking whether you want to include parent metadata in the download.

  4. Click Yes or No. The Save As dialog box for your operating system appears.
  5. Save the file. The resulting XLS file contains all metadata (system and user) for the selected files.
