If you have a user account and you have write access to Globusin MoDaC and Google, you can download one or more files to Globus. For information, refer to Preparing to Use Globusfrom MoDaC to Google Drive. 

  1. Navigate to the Download page, as described in Downloading to Other Locations. The Download page appears, listing the selected file or files. 
  2. Log in, as described in Logging In
  3. Search for the data of interest, as described in Finding Data
  4. In the search results, you have the following choices:
  5. To download an entire dataset, select the dataset of interest. (If you have a user account with upload permission, you can select multiple data sets.) Click Download Selected Datasets
  6. To download part of a dataset, click the link for the dataset of interest. The Dataset Details page appears. Select one or more files for download:
  7. To download one file, click the download icon in that row.
  8. To select all files, select the Batch Select checkbox. (To deselect one file, click the checkbox in that row.) Click Download Selected Files.

    The Download dialog box appears.

  9. Select Google DriveSelect Asynchronous (Globus)
  10. Specify the following information: 
    • Click Authorize MoDaC to Access Your Google Drive. A Google page appears. Follow the prompts. The MoDaC Download page reappears.
    • Specify the destination path:
      • To select information from Google Drive, click Select from Google Drive (Optional). Follow the prompts. Navigate to and select the folder in which you want to transfer the data. Click Select. The MoDaC Download page reappears. 
      • To enter the information manually, specify the path to and the name of the destination folder. Do not begin the path with a slash. If
    • Specify the UUID of the shared Globus endpoint. If necessary, copy the UUID from Globus, as described in Copying the Globus Shared Endpoint UUID.
    • Specify the Globus endpoint (destination) path. If you want to transfer the file to the root of the shared Globus endpoint, specify a forward slash character (/) as the path. If
      • the destination folder structure you specify does not already exist,
      the system creates it.
      •  MoDaC creates it.
    • If you are downloading a single file, you can keep the existing file name or specify a new file name. 
  11. Click Download. The system transfers the data based on your selections. 
  12. When the system displays the task ID, consider viewing the status clicking that link to view the progress of the download. For instructions, refer to to Viewing Download or Upload Status

Google periodically invites users to strengthen the security of their Google accounts. If you follow the Google prompts to remove MoDaC, you can authorize access again the next time you try to download data to Google Drive in MoDaC.
