If the following criteria are all true, you can upload one or more files from an AWS S3 bucket to an asset in MoDaC:

  • You have a MoDaC user account with upload permission.
  • You are member of a group that has permission to edit that asset (or you created that asset).
  • You have prepared an AWS S3 bucket for use with MoDaC. 

When you upload data, you become the owner of that data. (Ownership cannot be changed.)

If you have a user account with upload permission and you have read access to an AWS S3 bucket, you can upload one or more files from it. 

  1. Log in, as described in Logging In

  2. Click

    Uploads

    Upload in the header. The upload page appears.

     
  3. Navigate to the data set:
    1. Select an existing program or add a new one. 
    2. Select an existing study or add a new one. 
    3. Select an existing data set or add a new one.

    For instructions, refer to Adding a Collection.

  4. Include Page

    open the upload files page
    open the upload files page
  6. Select Transfer from AWS S3 Bucket

    Click Add Data. Select Bulk Data Files > S3

  7. Specify the following information: 

    • The name of the source S3 bucket.
    • The path to and the name of the folder in the source bucket. 
    • The AWS access key.
    • The AWS secret access key.
    • The region.
  8. Click 

    Register

    Upload. The system transfers the data based on your selections. 

  9. When the system displays the task ID,

    consider copying that ID and viewing the status
