- Perform a search for the sample.
- Click Edit in the search results row.

The Navigation Tree appears on the left sidebar and comprises functions which you can use to add annotations to the sample.
Include Page Understanding the Navigation Tree Abrev Understanding the Navigation Tree Abrev - Click , click the Characterizations link.
The All tab displays characterizations already added to the sample. The remaining tabs show annotations specific to those categories.
Info Based on your security privileges, you may have read-only access to existing items. Other characterization functions available include: If you are a curator, you can review existing characterizations, as well as Add, Edit, Delete, Copy, Print, and Export. If you have read-only access, see see Viewing Characterizations Summary.
Submitting Characterizations
The page that opens after you click an Add button on a characterization tab is very similar for all characterization types. The page differs only if there are special properties driven by the selection of characterization names. They also differ in the drop-down values for the column name in the Finding section driven by the characterization name and assay type selections.
