The [Adaptavist Footnotes Plugin|https://www.adaptavist.com/display/AtlassianConfluence/Footnotes+Plugin] provides a pair of macros: footnote and display-footnotes, to insert a footnote marker and to display the list of footnotes at the bottom of the page.

The display-footnotes macro follows all the rest of the text on this page, so that the complete list of footnotes will be displayed at the bottom of the page. The markup looks like this:

When you click the footnote marker, the corresponding footnote is highlighted in the display further down the page. To return to the content above, click the marker within the footnote display. Click in the text to stop the flashing of the footnote marker.
