has

been

upgraded

to

Confluence

3.4.6.

Space

administrators

and

Confluence

administrators

must

now

log

in

to

the

administration

interface.

A

log

in

screen

opens

when

the

user

clicks

the

link

for

an

administration

function.

It

is

important

for

space

administrators

to

*

avoid

removing

the

space

*

and

to

*

avoid

converting

a

space

to

a

personal

space

*

because

these

operations

can

not

be

undone.

The

font

size

is

larger

due

to

differences

in

the

Cascading

Style

Sheets.

The

wiki

remains

integrated

with

JIRA.

.

Several differences from older releases of Confluence were introduced at the last upgrade, to Confluence 3.2.1.

Most

of

the

features

and

functions

remain

the

same,

but

the

interface

changed

and

there

are

enhancements.

When

you

use

familiar

macros

for

the

first

time

you

will

see

new

syntax

for

some.

The

wiki

has

a

left

sidebar

that

shows

the

navigation

tree

for

the

pages

in

the

space.

Search

results

are

reported

differently,

enhancing

navigation

to

the

results

of

greatest

interest.

The

tabbed

editing

interface

is

replaced

by

expanding

menus

in

the

right

corner

of

each

page.

All

the

features

and

functions

in

the

tabbed

interface

are

present

and

easy

to

find.

Note

that

the

link

to

the

Info

page

showing

the

Tiny

Link

(permanent

link)

is

now

on

the

Tools

menu.

The

Favourites

and

Watch

icons

are

also

on

the

Tools

menu,

as

is

the

Remove

page

link.

The

Notation

Guide

is

visible

only

in

Wiki

Markup

view.

The

dynamic

table

macro

is

no

longer

supported.

All

instances

found

during

user

testing

were

blank,

so

no

information

is

lost.

The

dynamic

tasklist

macro

is

now

rendered

as

the

tasklist

macro.

The

Viewfile

macro

now

has

parameters

for

file

types.

An

existing

Viewfile

macro

does

not

need

to

have

the

file

type

added,

but

a

PowerPoint

presentation

loads

very

slowly

the

first

time.

A

message

eventually

appears

saying

the

file

is

being

converted

and

instructing

you

to

refresh

after

a

period

of

time.

When

you

refresh,

the

presentation

opens.

The

New

Window

User

macro

to

set

up

a

link

that

opens

in

a

new

window

has

been

removed,

as

it

no

longer

works

properly.

The

Helpful

Tips

link

in

the

page

header

opens

the

NCI

CBIIT

tips

page

(this

page),

which

is

being

updated

for

the

new

release.

As

always

if

you

need

help

and

information

you

may

the

wiki

master

at

or

you

may

and

forward

your

question.

link

in

the

header

and

Support

will

respond.
