EVS transition to virtual machines

STATUS:

  • Prod2 server up and running - being completed tested
    • Reported issues with value set exports - comparable to old Prod
    • Kim checked on mappings and sent solutionMappings fixed
  • Tomcat 8.5 reached EoL - needing new stacks for all tiers
    • Oracles OES8, Tomcat 10, Java 17
    • Met with Systems Tuesday, will check with them on progress no later than next Tuesday
    • Options
      • Go to Tomcat 9 first then carefully go to Tomcat 10Tomcat 10 would require a Java upgrade, 9 can stay on Java 8and Java 17 installed on Dev
      • Working on evs-jenkins today at 4
      • OES8 could come later
  • Stage 2 - all upgrade

Tomcat 8.5 is EOL - risk if new vulnerability discovered

  • Oracle Java 8 - still being used on DataQA
    • Still present on other servers, in $PATH
    • Tracy to put in tickets

Statistics Dashboard

OBJECTIVE 
Complete Migration of Statistics Dashboard from SumoLogic to DataDog by March 2024.  Hard end in April (ish) - possibly end of June

STATUS

  • S3 bucket has been created
    • Working on integration
    • successfully tested refresh
    • need to operationalize - testing going on today
  • Collectors installed on all servers 
    • Apache config happening server by servercomplete
  • Apache logs being pulled in for p805
    • evs.cancer.gov now working
      • Working on queries
      • Cyrus -  needs to implement "facet"
  • New Stage2 and Prod2 New Stage and Prod servers need to be requested - Tracy
