To avoid creating lists of links that include pages users are not permitted to see, rely on Confluence to generate the list of links.

Links generated by Confluence are visible only to users with permissions to see the pages

Use the Children Display macro to list the child pages of any page. An example follows. There are two child pages (both have a title only).

When you are not logged in, you see one link in the list. When you are logged in, you see two links. Links in a list produced with the Children Display macro are visible only to users with permission to see the pages.

Links entered in the text are visible to all users but do not open for users without permission to see the page

Whether you are logged in or not, you see this link: A page restricted to one group. It was created with link text and the Tiny Link to the wiki page.

  • If you are not logged in, when you select the link, the login screen opens.
  • If you are logged in, when you select the link, the page opens unless you are not in the LDAP group.
  • If you are not a member of the group, a message opens indicating you are not permitted to see the page.

Whether you are logged in or not, you also see this link: A page restricted to one group. It was created using the Recently Viewed option in the link dialog. When you are not logged in, the link is gray and not active.
