Summary

Download on NBIA by searching Collection name: TCGA

This page is for tracking the TCGA radiology images being loaded into NBIA. These images were collected as part of the caBIG TCGA Enterprise Use Case project. This caBIG enterprise use case involves loading the TCGA images stored in NBIA into 3 different workstations that are being developed with annotation and markup capabilities based on Annotation Imaging Markup (AIM)

As of October 2009 the caBIG Imaging Workspace completed Phase I of this Enterprise Use Case. ClearCanvas (Windows), Osirix (Mac) and XIP (caBIG open source/cross platform) were customized to allow retrieval of images from NBIA over the caGrid, markup in AIM standards, and storage back to an AIM-E data service. More information can be found on the TCGA Radiology Project Phase I Homepage.

Accrual Details

The Cancer Imaging Program (CIP) worked directly with Henry Ford and UCSF primary investigators to obtain and load images relating to TCGA case studies into the National Cancer Institute Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology (NCI CBIIT) installation of the National Biomedical Imaging Archive (NBIA).  De-identification of the images from both sites followed the procedures outlined in DICOM Working Group 18's Supplement 142 document, which was implemented via the Clinical Trials Processor (CTP) software used for submitting data into NBIA.
