  1. Open a supported browser (Google Chrome) and navigate to the https://cadsr.cancer.gov portal. The home page appears.

  2. From the View menu, select Browse and then select Models - View/Browse. The corresponding page appears. (Logged in users can add pages like this to their favorites. For instructions, refer to Managing Favorites.) The Models - View/Browse page contains a grid with with the following columns: 

    ColumnInformation
    Model NameThe name assigned to the model by the model owner.
    Public IDThe unique identifier for the model in caDSR.
    VersionThe version of the model that is registered in caDSR.
    Owned ByThe context that owns the model and has administrative authority to edit and update it. 
    Registration StatusA designation of the model's status in the registration life-cycle. 
    Workflow StatusA designation of the model's status in the administrative process of a registration authority for handling registration requests.
    DefinitionThe definition of the model within a context. 
    Latest Version?"Yes" indicates that this is the latest version of the model. "No" indicates this is an older version of the model.
    Item TypeThe type of registered administered item (Model).
    Created ByThe user who created the model in caDSR.
    Last Modified ByThe user who last updated the model in caDSR.
  3. In the row for the model you would like to view, click the View icon. A tree view and information panel appear. 

  4. In the tree panel, click one of the nodes. For details, click one of the following links:

    Click the "1. Alternate Names" node. A grid appears with the following columns:

    ColumnInformation
    Alternate NameThe alternate name of the model within a context.
    Alternate Name TypeThe type of alternate name for the model.
    ContextThe context that owns the alternate name and has administrative authority to edit and update it.
    LanguageThe language or language variation for the alternate name of the model.

    Click the "2. Alternate Definitions" node. A grid appears with the following columns:

    ColumnInformation
    Alternate DefinitionThe alternate definition of the model within a context.
    Definition TypeThe type of alternate definition for the model.
    ContextThe context that owns the alternate definition and has administrative authority to edit and update it.
    LanguageThe language or language variation for the alternate definition of a model.

    Click the "3. Classifications" node. A grid appears with the following columns:

    ColumnInformation
    CS ContextThe context that owns the classification scheme of the model and has administrative authority to edit and update it.
    CS|CSIThe classification scheme or classification scheme item for the model. 
    CS Public IDThe unique identifier of the classification scheme for the model in caDSR.
    CS VersionThe version of the classification scheme for the model in caDSR.
    CS Workflow StatusThe workflow status of the classification scheme for the model.
    CSI Public IDThe unique identifier of the classification scheme item for the model in caDSR.
    CSI VersionThe version of the classification scheme item for the model in caDSR.
    CSI Workflow StatusThe workflow status of the classification scheme item for the model.
    CS TypeThe type of classification scheme for the model.
    CSI TypeThe type of classification scheme item for the model.

    Click the "4. Reference Document" node. A grid appears with the following columns:

    ColumnInformation
    Document NameThe name of the reference document for the model.
    Document TypeThe type of reference document for the model.
    Document TextThe text of the reference document for the model.
    ContextThe context that owns the reference document for the model and has administrative authority to edit and update it.
    LanguageThe language or language variation of the reference document for the model.
    Display OrderThe display order of the reference document for the model.
    URLThe URL of the reference document for the model.

    Click the "5. Model Elements" node. A grid appears with the following columns:

    ColumnInformation
    Element Long NameThe long name assigned to the element in caDSR. 
    Element Physical NameThe name of the element in the physical data model.
    Element TypeThe kind of model element this item represents, such as Table, Node, Class. This is usually driven by the type of model being registered.
    Element Public IDThe unique caDSR public ID for the element.
    Element VersionThe version number.
    Element DescriptionThe model owner's description of the model element.
    Element Mapping GroupA high-level alignment of this model element with a common core semantics or meaning of the Element. If CDEs are linked with the associated Characteristics, the CDE semantics will be used for the Characteristic, even if different than mapping group. 
    Element Mapping Group DefinitionThe definition of the element mapping group.

    Click the "7. Flattened View - Elements, Characteristics, CDEs" node. A grid appears with the following columns:

    ColumnInformation
    Element Long NameThe long name assigned to the element in caDSR. 
    Element Physical NameThe name of the element in the physical data model.
    Element TypeThe kind of model element this item represents, such as Table, Node, Class. This is usually driven by the type of model being registered.
    Characteristic Long NameThe long name of the characteristic with no restrictions on the format.
    Characteristic Physical NameThe physical name of the characteristic.
    Characteristic OrderThe order of characteristics.
    Characteristic TypeThe type of characteristic. 
    Mandatory?An indication of whether this characteristic must be populated with data in a transformation. 
    Default ValueThe default value for the model.
    CDE Public IDThe CDE public ID.
    CDE VersionThe CDE version number.
    CDE Long NameThe CDE long name. 
    CDE ContextThe Owning Context of the CDE.
    VD Public IDThe public ID of the value domain.
    VD VersionThe version number of the value domain.
    VD Long NameThe long name of the value domain. 
    VD TypeThe type of value domain: Enumerated or Non-enumerated.
    Char Data TypeThe data type of the characteristic, such as integer or varchar(50).
    VD Standard Data TypeThe standard data type of the value domain, such as Integer or Character.
    Char UOMThe unit of measure of the characteristic.
    VD UOMThe unit of measure of the Value Domain.
    Char Min LengthThe minimum length of the characteristic.
    VD Min LengthThe minimum length of the value domain.
    Char Max LengthThe maximum length of the characteristic.
    VD Max LengthThe maximum length of the value domain.
    DEC Public IDThe public ID of the DEC.
    DEC VersionThe version number of the DEC.
    DEC Long NameThe long name of the DEC.
    DEC ContextThe context of the DEC.
    Char PK?Is the characteristic a primary key or part of a PK for the element?
    Char FK?Does the characteristic have a parent via foreign Key association?
    FK Element Physical NameParent Element Physical name if characteristic is a foreign key.
    FK Characteristics Physical NameParent Element Characteristic Physical Name if foreign key association is indicated.
    Element DescriptionThe model owner's description of the model element.
    Characteristic DescriptionThe description of the characteristic.
    Element Mapping GroupA high-level alignment of this model element with a common core semantics or meaning of the Element. If CDEs are linked with the associated Characteristics, the CDE semantics will be used for the Characteristic, even if different than mapping group.
