  1. Log in as described in Logging In via the GUI. The Dashboard appears.
  2. Click Manage tab > Download Tasks.  The The Download Tasks page appears, listing all ongoing and completed requests for the transfer of collections or data files from DME.

    The following table describes the information on this page for each download request:

    To view details about a specific download request, click the task ID. The Download Task Details page appears.

    This page provides the following information about the download transfer. (The timestamps on this page reflect a 24-hour clock.) Information about a collection download request:Information about the overall download request:

  4. Source path
  5. Destination path and endpoint
  6. Transfer status 
  7. Transfer status percentage (if in progress)
  8. ColumnDescription
    User IDThe ID of the user who submitted each request. (This column is visible to administrators viewing all tasks.)
    Task IDThe task ID assigned to the request by the system. Each time you successfully request a download, the system sends an email notification with a unique task ID and displays the same task ID here.
    PathThe source path.
    TypeThe data type,
    either Collection or
    such as Collection, Collection List, Data Object (data file), or Data Object List.
    Transfer Result
    Destination TypeThe
    status of the request
    destination type, such as
    In Process
    Globus,
    Completed, or Failed.

  11. Information for each data file in the download request:
    • Source path

    • Transfer status

  12. Information about a data file download request:
    • Source path
    • Transfer request ID
    • Transfer request type
    • Destination path and endpoint
    • Transfer status 
    • Transfer status percentage (if in progress)
    • The date and time the transfer request was created 
    • The date and time the transfer request was completed (if completed)
  13. To cancel a download in progress, click the cancel icon (The cancel icon.Image Removed), visible on the right or left side of the page, depending on the size of your browser window. A message appears confirming the cancellation. 
  14. To view details about the downloaded data, click the path link. The details page appears for that data. For information, refer to Viewing Metadata via the GUI
  15. ResultThe status of the request, such as In Process, Canceled, Completed, or Failed.
    Retry User IDThe user ID of the user who retried the request, if any. 
    ErrorThe error message for this request, if any.
  16. If you are an administrator and want to view only your own requests, clear Display All Tasks
  17. Consider sorting, filtering, or navigating this list. For instructions, refer to Using the Registration or Download Task List

Sometimes a Globus, AWS S3, or dbGaP Sometimes a Globus download fails due to network issues or other issues.  Consider Consider retrying those downloads, as described in in the following pages:
