Page History
You can easily create a link from one page to another within the same wiki:
- In the destination page (the page to which you want your link to point), copy the URL of the page from the browser address bar.
- In the page you want to change, click Edit.
- At the place on the page where you want the link to appear, paste the URL. Confluence automatically converts the URL to a link with the title of the page as the link text.
- Consider keeping the link text as it is, so that Confluence will automatically update the link if the page title changes. (Refer to the note below.) However, you can edit the link text, if necessary.
- If necessary, edit the link address:
- Click the link text. A row of buttons appears.
- Click Edit. The Edit link dialog box appears.
- Select one of the following options:
- Select Search. Enter the page title. Select the title from the list.
- Select Recently viewed. Select the title from the list.
- Click Save.
Avoid using the wiki Tiny Link when linking from one page to another within the same wiki. Such a link does not show up in the list of Incoming Links for the destination page.

Linking to another wiki page or website
The following are the steps to link to another wiki page or a website.
- Type the description to use for the link text.
- Highlight your link text.
- Click the link icon in the Rich Text editor.
- In the dialog box, paste the Tiny Link for the page or the URL for the website.
You can also link to another wiki page by typing its name in square brackets, or paste the Tiny Link to the page or the link to the website directly into your text. Web accessibility guidelines indicate that links embedded with link text are preferred.
If you link to a site other than a US government site, include the destination in your link text, for example "topic (as explained on wikipedia.org).

If you link to a page by its title andsomeone changes the title of the page to which you 'vehave linked to, the result depends on how you specified the link will change automatically. However, the page title in your text will not change. If you use the Tiny Link, the link will not break regardless of changes in the page to which you are linking. | ||||
