If the following criteria are met, you can delete an empty dataset collectiona collection at the asset level or higher:

  • You own the data. That is, you created the dataset collection. 
  • The data is not public. That is, the access_group attribute is not empty. For information, refer to Managing Group Access
  • The dataset collection is less than 90 days old.
  • have permission to delete it in one of the following ways:
    • Via ownership: You created it. 
    • Via group permissions (as described in Managing Edit Permissions) and delete permission. (To request permission to delete data, select About > Contact. For details, refer to Contacting Us.)
  • The collection is empty. 

To delete a collectionTo delete a file:

  1. Log in, as described in Logging InPerform a search, as described in Finding Data. In the search results, each entry lists the relevant dataset collections. A delete icon appears next to each dataset collection that meets the above criteria
  2. Click Upload in the header. The upload page appears.
  3. Navigate to and select the collection that you want to delete. Click the deletion option. (For example, to delete an asset, select a program from the program list, select a study from the study list, select the asset from the asset list, and then select Delete Asset.) A message appears prompting you to confirm the deletion.
  4. Click Yes.
