The following are the steps to To link to another wiki page or a website.

  1. Type the description to use for the link text.
  2. Highlight your the link text.
  3. Click the link icon in the Rich Text Confluence editor.
  4. In the dialog box, paste the Tiny Link for the page or the navigate to Web Link and paste the URL for the website.

You can also To link to another wiki page by typing its name in square brackets, or paste the Tiny Link to the page or the link to the website directly into your text. Web accessibility guidelines indicate that links embedded with link text are preferred

  1. Type the description to use for the link text.

  3. Click the link icon in the Confluence editor.
  4. In the dialog, navigate to Search or Recently Viewed and enter the page title (for search); select the title from the list.

If you link to a site other than a US government site, include the destination in your or adjacent to the link text, for example "topic (as explained on wikipedia.org).

  • If you link to a page by its title and someone changes the title of the page you've linked to, the link will change automatically. However, the page title in your link text will not change. If you use the Tiny Link, the link will not break regardless of changes in the page to which you are linking.
  • If you have linked by page title, and someone changes the page title you have linked to, your page will indicate it was last edited by the person who changed the title of the page you linked to. If your page is restricted for viewing and editing, it will still be shown as having been changed by this person, who may not be in your LDAP group or able to see your page.
