The caNanoLab User's Guide provides information and instructions for using caNanoLab. This chapter introduces you to using caNanoLab online help and how the caNanoLab User's Guide is the companion documentation to the caNanoLab software application. The user's guide includes information and instructions for using caNanoLab.organized.

Using the Online Help

caNanoLab online help is provided in a user's guide format.

You can open the user's guide without being logged into caNanoLab.

  • To open the complete online user's guide, click the Help menu option. This is available as a menu option when you are not logged in.
  • To open the glossary, click the Glossary menu option. This is available as a menu option when you are not logged in.
  • Click the Help link at the top of each caNanoLab page to open a context-sensitive topic. Context-sensitive help displays information that corresponds to the page from which help was opened.
  • caNanoLab uses many terms unique to the nanotechnology domain. In the user's guide, these words appear as links. Click the linked word to open up the Glossary for a definition.

  • Managing Protocols – Describes describes how to submit and search for existing protocols.
  • Managing Samples – Describes describes the processes for submitting and updating samples, and searching for existing samples.
