If you are a logged in curator, Groups is available to create, edit, and remove collaboration groups in caNanoLab. Collaboration groups allow researchers to share data among members of the group.  

When you click the Groups menu, the Manage Community page appears. From the Manage Collaboration option, you can perform the following.

To edit a collaboration group

  1. Click Groups.
  2. Click Manage Collaboration Groups.
  3. From Manage Collaboration Groups, click Edit corresponding to an existing collaboration group.

    Editing a Collaboration Group
    The Collaboration Group Information panel opens at the bottom of the page.
  4. Update the Name and Description of the group as needed.
  5. To add a user to a group, click Add next to User Login Name. To edit an existing user, click Edit next to the user name.
  6. Enter the User Login Name, or click Search and select a user from the list.

    When the collaboration group is associated with a protocol, sample, or publication, Read-only or Read-Update-Delete access is specified at that time.

  7. Click Save.
  8. When you are done updating the group, click Submit.
    The Collaboration Group is updated.

To delete a collaboration group

  1. Click Groups.
  2. Click Manage Collaboration Groups.
  3. From the Managing Collaboration Groups page, click Edit corresponding to an existing collaboration group.
    Removing a Collaboration Group
    The Collaboration Group Information panel opens at the bottom of the page.
  4. Click Remove, and confirm the removal.
    The Collaboration Group is removed from the list.
