  1. Search for the data of interest, as described in Finding Data
  2. In the search results, click the link for the dataset asset of interest. The Dataset Asset Details page appears with the following lists:
    • The program, study, and dataset namesasset names, as well as the asset path
    • A list of attributes and attribute values. If a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) attribute is available, you can share the URL for the dataset asset with another user, using the following format:

    • A list of files.

You can perform the following the actions in the list of files without logging in:

1Copy the path for a file

In the row for the file of interest, click the Copy File Path icon (The Copy Path icon.Image Added). The system copies the path to your clipboard. 

5Download a file

Download File icon (The Download File icon.Image Added). The Download page appears. For details, refer to Downloading Data

6Download multiple files

Select the Batch Select checkbox. (To exclude a file from download, click the checkbox for that row.) Click Download Selected Files. The Download page appears. For details, refer to Downloading Data

2Edit the metadata for a file

In the row for the file of interest, click the

...

Edit File Metadata icon (The Edit File Metadata icon. Image Added). For details, refer to Editing Metadata.

3Download the metadata for a file

In the row for the file of interest, click the Download File Metadata icon (The Download Metadata icon.Image Added). A message appears. For details, refer to Downloading Metadata for an Asset

4Download the metadata for multiple filesSelect the Batch Select checkbox. (To exclude a file from download, click the checkbox for that row.) Click Download Selected Metadata. A message appears. For details, refer to Downloading Metadata for an Asset
7Delete a file

In the row for the file of interest, click the

...

Delete File icon (The Delete File icon.Image Added). A confirmation message appears. For details, refer to Deleting a File

If the following criteria are met, you can delete a file:

  • You own the data. That is, you created the file. 
  • The parent collection is not public. For information, refer to Managing Group Access

  • The data file is less than 90 days old.
