SYSTEMS
EVS transition to virtual machines

STATUS:We need to have a decision about how to handle PROD Server - configured.  Met with Eric last week

Stage 2 VM updated from 2 to 32 CPUs

We were going to wait to switch STAGE from on prem to VM once PROD server is ready; so we can switch both PROD and STAGE at same time . 

We are waiting until OS conversions are complete and then will work on Prod system. 

  • DECIDED: conversion first, then transition to VMs.  Likely end of March
  • we are probably a ways from PROD VM; STAGE VM saw issues pop up during transition

Statistics Dashboard

OBJECTIVE 
Complete Migration of Statistics Dashboard from SumoLogic to DataDog by March 2024.  Hard end in April.

STATUS

  • S3 bucket has been created, but is blocked by next step of installing a Datadog / AWS integration. 
    • Cyrus to provide ARN and script that will be accessing the bucket.
    • Possible done tomorrow
  • RUM installation started
  • Collectors installed on all servers except evs.nci.nih.gov - no gov 
  • No apache logs being pulled in for on-prem servers - Cyrus reaching out to DataDog support

ACTIONS

    •  Mark is working with Syed and Cyrus for configuration work. Systems is having problems doing configuration

EVS PROD Outage

  • Broken pipe issues on Prod - client being cut off before server completes query
    • Research required - possibly client abandoning
    • Requests not waiting but server is piling on queries
  • Some remediation being made on Stage 2 to help with startup caching

  • NCIt Browser with culled older jars has reached Prod, resolving some errors
  • Still working on stabilization of other errors, but think new server might resolve some issues
  • Some deployment issues with Dev and DataQA tiers.  Need to examine Jenkins projects
    • DataQA slow when resolving value sets - similar to what has been seen on other tiers
