To perform a data element search:

  1. From the View menu, select Browse and then select Data Elements - View/Browse
  2. Specify one or more search criteria, as described in the following table: 

    FieldInstructions
    Enter Search StringEnter one or more names or definitions, complete or partial, using an asterisk as a wildcard, separating multiple words with a space. The search is not case-sensitive. For details on wildcards, refer to (link TBD). 
    CDE Public IDAdd a public ID or add multiple public IDs separated by a space. You cannot use wildcards in this field.
    CDE Long NameEnter one or more names or definitions, complete or partial, using an asterisk as a wildcard, separating multiple words with a space. The search is not case-sensitive. For details on wildcards, refer to (link TBD).
    Multiple Public ID SearchTBD 
    CDE Short NameTBD 
    Latest Version

    Data elements are assigned version numbers by the context administrator. Select one of the following options:

    • To search for the latest version of the CDE, select Yes.
    • To search for all versions except the latest version, select No.
    Owned ByTBD 
    Origin IDTBD 
    Registration StatusRegistration status filters your results based on the data element registration status. For details, refer to (link TBD).
    Workflow StatusWorkflow status filters your results based on the administrative workflow status of the data element. In most cases, you will want to search for released data elements, but any status is available. For details, refer to (link TBD).
    Program AreaTo reduce the search time, select a program area.

  3. Click Apply Filter. The system hides the search criteria and displays the search results.
