You can permanently delete a collection and associated metadata, if the following criteria are all true:
- Your user account has the group administrator role.
- You created that collection.
- That collection is empty.
- That collection is less than 90 days old.
To delete a collection:
- Log in as described in Logging In via the GUI. The Dashboard appears.
- Browse for content as described in Browsing for Data via the GUI. The Browse page appears.
- Navigate to and right-click the collection you want to view. Click View Details. The Collection page appears.
- On the Collection page, click the delete icon ( ). A message appears, prompting you to confirm the deletion.
- Click OK. The system permanently deletes the collection.
To delete a non-empty collection as a group administrator, consider using the CLU command with the recursive (-r) option, as described in Deleting a Collection via the CLU. To request deletion of data you did not create or older data, contact NCIDataVault@mail.nih.gov.
