Performing a Form Search - 2021-08-03

When you search for forms in OneData, keep in mind the following points:

• (TBD: Do forms follow a standard, the way CDEs follow the ISO/IEC 11179 standard?)
• (TBD: Is each field set to "all" by default?)
• (TBD: Which fields are case-sensitive?)
• (TBD: In which fields can users specify partial values?)
• (TBD: In which fields can users use a wildcard?)
• For some fields, you can adjust the search scope (with options such as NOT LIKE, Exact Phrase Match, All Of The Words, or One Of The Words) by clicking the Advanced Filter icon.
• (TBD: Does the system process search criteria as AND statements?)
• To reset a list of values, click the Clear Values icon next to that list.
• When you remove or change search criteria, the system does not update search results until you click Apply Filter again.

To perform a data element search:

1. Open a supported browser:
   • Chrome
   • Firefox

2. Navigate to the following portal:

   https://wmonedata.nci.nih.gov/

   The home page appears. 

3. From the View menu, select Browse and then select Forms. 

4. Specify one or more search criteria, as described in the following table: 

   Field	Instructions
   Form Name	Type all or part of the form name. (To adjust search scope, click the Advanced Filter icon.)
   Public ID	Specify the numeric value for the form public ID. (TBD: No wildcards? No partial strings? No multiple ID field?)
   Owned By	Select one or more of the contexts that have administrative authority to edit and update the form.
   Registration Status	Select one or more registration statuses. For details, refer to Registration Status - 2022-01-10.  (To adjust search scope, click the Advanced Filter icon.)
   Workflow Status	Select one or more workflow statuses. For details, refer to Workflow Status - 2022-01-10. (To adjust search scope, click the Advanced Filter icon.)
   Latest Version	Select one of the following options: To search for the latest version of the form, select  Yes. To search for all versions except the latest version, select  No. To search for all versions, clear this field. (That is, set it to  Select Value.)
   Created By	Select one or more names of people who created forms.
   Last Modified By	Select one or more names of people who modified forms.

5. In the fields that have a Select a Value icon, you can select one or more values. Click the Select a Value icon next to the field. A Reference Data Panel appears. 

   • To select one value: Click the value name. The value name appears in the field. 
   • To select one or more values: Click the checkbox for each row you want to include. Click Set Values. The field indicates how many values you have set. 
6. You can also create your own query to search, by specifying an explicit "where" clause.
   1. Click the Advanced Filter icon.
   2. Under Filter Options, select a column and then click >>. The name of the selected column appears in the text box.
   3. Complete the query string. (For example, if your query string is "a.CURRNT_VER_IND=1" when you click Apply Filter, the system returns all items of the latest version.)

7. If necessary, you can specify additional criteria using a child filter. For details, click one of the following links:

   Field	Instructions
   Category	Select a category.
   Type	Select a type (CRF or Template).

   Specify Criteria for Alternate Names

   Field	Instructions
   Alternate Name	Type all or part of the alternate name. (To adjust search scope, click the Advanced Filter icon.)
   Alternate Name Type	Select an alternate name type.
   Context	Select one or more contexts.

   Specify Criteria for Alternate Definitions

   Field	Instructions
   Alternate Definition	Type all or part of the definition. (To adjust search scope, click the Advanced Filter icon.)
   Definition Type	Select a definition type.
   Context	Select a context. (TBD: Is it okay that this is a drop-down list, whereas the Context field for other child filters are all multi-select lists?)
   Language	Select a language.

   Specify Criteria for Classifications

   Field	Instructions
   CS|CSI	Select one or more classification schemes or classification scheme items.
   CS Context	Type all or part of the classification scheme context. (To adjust search scope, click the Advanced Filter icon.)
   CS Long Name	Type all or part of the classification scheme long name.

   Specify Criteria for Reference Documents

   Field	Instructions
   Document Name	Type all or part of a reference document name. (To adjust search scope, click the Advanced Filter icon.)
   Document Type	Select a document type.
   Document Text	Type all or part of a reference document text. (To adjust search scope, click the Advanced Filter icon.)
   Context	Select one or more contexts.

   Specify Criteria for Protocols

   Field	Instructions
   Protocol	Select one or more protocols. (TBD: The Form Builder User Guide said, "This option is applicable only when searching for case report forms". Is this true for this field, too?)

   Specify Criteria for Modules

   Field	Instructions
   Display Order	Specify the numeric value assigned to the module for the display order.
   Number of Repetitions	Specify the numeric value assigned to the module for the number of repetitions.
   Module	Select one or more modules.
   Module Name	Type all or part of the module name. (To adjust search scope, click the Advanced Filter icon.)
   Module ID	Specify the numeric value for the module ID.
   Owned By	Type all or part of the context that has administrative authority to edit and update the module. (TBD: Is it okay that this is an editable text box, whereas the Owned By field at the top of the form search page is a multi-select field?)
   Workflow Status	Type all or part of the workflow status. (TBD: Is it okay that this is an editable text box, whereas the Workflow Status field at the top of the form search page is a multi-select field?)
   Registration Status	Type all or part of the registration status. (TBD: Is it okay that this is an editable text box, whereas the Registration Status field at the top of the form search page is a multi-select field?)
   Instructions	Type all or part of the module instructions.

   Specify Criteria for CDEs on Form

   Field	Instructions
   CDE Public ID	Specify the numeric value for the CDE public ID.
   CDE Version	Specify the numeric value for the CDE version.
   Question Short Name	Type all or part of the question short name.
   Question Text	Type all or part of the question text. (To adjust search scope, click the Advanced Filter icon.)

   CDE Workflow Status	Type all or part of the workflow status. (TBD: Is it okay that this is an editable text box, whereas the Workflow Status field at the top of the form search page is a multi-select field?)
   CDE Registration Status	Type all or part of the registration status. (TBD: Is it okay that this is an editable text box, whereas the Registration Status field at the top of the form search page is a multi-select field?)
   Question Instructions	Type all or part of the question instructions.
   Question Short Name	Type all or part of the question short name.
   Question Text	Type all or part of the question text. (To adjust search scope, click the Advanced Filter icon.)
   Answer is Mandatory	Specify whether the answer is mandatory (Yes) or not (No).
   Answer is Editable	Specify whether the answer is editable (Yes) or not (No).
   Default Value (Non-enumerated)	Type all or part of a non-enumerated default value.
   Default Value (Enumerated)	Type all or part of an enumerated default value. (TBD: What is the difference between enumerated and non-enumerated default value?)
   Valid Value	Type all or part of a valid value.
   Value Meaning Text	Type all or part of value meaning text.
   Valid Value Instruction	Type all or part of valid value instruction.

   Specify Criteria for Triggered Action

   (TBD: The "9. Triggered Action" filter has no fields on any tier. Is that intentional?)

   Specify Criteria for Alternate Definition Classifications

   (TBD: This child filter looks exactly the same as the "3. Classifications" child filter. Is that intentional?)

   Default Value (Enumerated)	Type all or part of an enumerated default value.

   Specify Criteria for Question Valid Values

   Valid Value	Type all or part of a valid value.
   VV Version	Specify the numeric value for the valid value version.
   VM Public ID	Specify the numeric value for the value meaning public ID.
   VM Version	Specify the numeric value for the valid meaning version.
   Question	Select one or more questions.
   Display Order	Specify the numeric value for the display order.
   Value Meaning Text	Type all or part of a value meaning text.
   Value Meaning Description	Type all or part of a value meaning description.

   Specify Criteria for Questions

   Field	Instructions
   Question Short Name	Type all or part of a question short name.
   Question Text	Type all or part of a question text.
   CDE Public ID | Version | Data Element Long Name | Owned By | Value Domain Type | Format | Data Type | UOM	Select one or more CDEs.
   CDE Public ID	Specify the numeric value for the CDE public ID.
   Data Element Long Name	Type all or part of a data element long name.
   Value Domain Type	Type all or part of a value domain type. (TBD: Is it okay that this is a text box rather than a drop-down list?)
   Format	Type all or part of a date format, such as DD/MON/YYYY or mm/dd/yy.
   Data Type	Type all or part of a data type. (TBD: Is it okay that this is a text box rather than a drop-down list?)
   UOM	Type all or part of a unit of measure.
   Default Value (Non-enumerated)	Type all or part of a non-enumerated default value. (To adjust search scope, click the Advanced Filter icon.) (TBD: Is it okay that this child filter doesn't have a "Default Value (Enumerated)" field?)
   Answer is Editable	Specify whether the answer is editable (Yes) or not (No).
   Answer is Mandatory	Specify whether the answer is mandatory (Yes) or not (No).

   Specify Criteria for Reference Documents - Blobs

   Field	Instructions
   File Link	Type all or part of the file link.
   MIME Type	Type all or part of the media type. (TBD: Is it okay that the label uses the old term "MIME type" rather than the new term "media Type"?)
   Document Size	Specify the numeric value for the document size.
   Character Set	Type all or part of the character set.
   Document Last Updated Date	Specify the date on which the document was last updated.

8. Click Apply Filter. The system displays the search results. By default, the system also hides the search criteria.

To view details about a form, click the value in the Form Name column.
