Problem: When I install caIntegrator using the GUI wizard and try to access the application using the URL provided in step 29 of the wizard, I get a 404 'Page Not Found' error message in my browser.

*Topic*: caIntegrator Installation and Upgrade

*Release*: caIntegrator 1.3 and above

*Date entered*: 01/27/2012

Solution

The URL listed in step 29 of the installation wizard (highlighted in the screenshot below) is incorrect.
The correct URL is as follows:

http://localhost:47210/caintegrator/

The host name of the machine caIntegrator is installed on can be used in place of the phrase 'localhost' in the above URL. In the above screenshot, the URL contains the host name 'MAGNET14' in place of the phrase 'localhost'.

Another possible reason why you see the 'Page Not Found' error when accessing the caIntegrator URL is a faulty installation. Even if the GUI wizard completed successfully and the installer invoked the JBoss window, there may have been installation errors. These errors are logged in the 'server.log' file located at:

[installation path]\jboss-4.0.5.GA\server\default\log (Windows)

[installation path]/jboss-4.0.5.GA/server/default/log (Linux)

One common cause of caIntegrator installation errors in Windows is invoking the GUI installer's JAR file from within a user directory or other directory with limited system privileges. In Windows 2000 and XP and Windows Server 2003, user directories have the following path:

c:\Documents and Settings_(user name)_

where (user name) is the name of the user

The caIntegrator installer JAR should not be invoked from any such directory, as the installer generates temporary files during the installation process that are located in the same directory as the one from which the installer was invoked. An issue with generating the temporary files will show in the 'server.log' with the following error messages:
