Admin permissions
A user assigned the admin user role can log in and use the Admin menu to add, update, and remove users from caNanoLab and reset user passwords.
When you click the Admin menu, the Manage User Accounts page appears with the following options.

Creating a New User Account
To create a new user account
Click the Admin caNanoLab menu option. On the Manage Users page, click Create New User. This opens the Create User page.
- Fill in the following information about the user:
Username
First and Last Name
Organization
Department
Title
Phone Number
Email
Select the User Role(s) to assign to the user:
Researcher
Curator
Admin
Click Save.
A success message displays in red at the top of the page.
Searching for Existing Users
To search for an existing user
On the Manage Users page, click Search Existing Users.
The User Search page opens.
In the Search Name box, enter the user's Username, or First or Last Name.Leaving User Search Empty
If you do not add any parameters in the User Search box, all users are returned in the results.
The User Search Results page opens.
You can edit and reset the password for any user returned by the search.
Editing a User Account
To edit a user's account information
In the row of the user in the search results, click Edit.
You cannot edit the Username. Make your changes on the Update User page opens.
Click Update.
A success message displays in red at the top of the page.
Resetting a User Password
To reset a user password
- Search for the user.
In the row of the user in the search results, click Reset Password.
You cannot edit the Username. Enter the old password and add a new password.
Click Reset Password.
A success message displays in red at the top of the page.
