EVS transition to virtual machines (p2483/stage) | Status: IN-PROGRESS. Had a meeting on Monday with Systems. Updated some IP filtering and memory settings. The servers have been up since Monday. Question: when do we want to schedule switch-over? Will take about an hour, will be in evening (i.e. after 6pm). Sounds like a good plan to do it earlier; makes sense to do it on Thursday. We don't want it down over the long weekend (Monday is Fed Holiday). Let's see if Thursday is an option. |

Server Stability* | Updated memory settings, been more stable (when the reboot happens correctly, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ). Had long discussion with Amit Mukherjee. 1. The WAF itself probably won't be right answer. 2. CICRC (Giri) has filtered entire Singapore region for malicious traffic. 3. There is additional filtering possibilities, but it requires more direct involvement with Systems. Chuck did more filtering of bot traffic. Reduction of ~ 30% of traffic. |
redirection of EVS legacy systems | Will start redirect test on Nov 4 TODO write up the process in more clarity. Need to add rules for 2 URLs https://ncimetathesaurus.nci.nih.gov/ and https://ncithesaurus.nci.nih.gov/ etc. Jason has added these to the spreadsheet. |
